How early have you got your positive pregnancy test? Hey, ladies, how soon did you get your positive pregnancy test? Was it before your period was due or a few days later? Thank you. x For a pregnency I had a positive about two days before my period was due but then I miscarryed about 4 weeks later. For my two successful pregnancies I did not have a positive (although I have been testing daily for about a week) until the day my period was due and even then the lines were weak. you can't get a pregnancy test that early, no matter what is claimed in the packaging. You're testing for conception, not a pregnancies. Totally useless, most conceptions are not set I have mine four days before my period was due. Strong results in the Boots test and first response. Now 17 weeks x 6 days, 6 days! after AF was due .I think you're wrong with green leaf. Once the zygote has implanted you are pregnant. It may not last, but you start producing hcg. This could be up to two weeks before your period, depending on the length of your cycle. It takes a week or more to accumulate to detectable levels. It is possible to have a positive test before your period is due, but it depends on when you conceive and how long your cycle is, instead of the test itself. He had a weak positive in the Fri, the period was due to the following Tues. But what is the point when less than half survive? absolutely useless, and inventing a totally new and unnecessary source of modern trauma You can't get a positive pregnancy test 2 weeks before it's due. If you had that long luteal phase, you wouldn't be able to get pregnant. In addition, implantation does not occur moments after fertilization. 5 days before the period was due to a first response of pink dye, now 35 weeks pregnant. That was in response to Saynotocarrots. Depending on when ovulation, conception and implant occurred (no one of which you can know safely except perhaps ovulation if you had clear evidence or indicators) you could start getting a positive 9-10 days before it is due. Aaah, it meant 9-10 days after ovulation! So four days before he's due, karatekitten you misunderstood me. I'm not saying you're positive as soon as you get implanted. I say a week after that. So a few days before your period depending on the length of your cycle. Some people know for sure when implantation occurs: implant/bleeding pains. I didn't suggest this happen seconds after fertilization. The last pregnancy that ended with a missed abortion in June, I have a very weak BFP 8 days before AF was due! This pregnancy I have a BFP 7 days before the AF owes it. I usually always know I'm in 5-7 days of conception anyway. But you said two weeks before the period is due. The length of the cycle after ovulation is quite fixed (it is the previous part of the ovulation that changes giving longer or shorter cycles). If it is longer than an average of 2 weeks, the woman cannot become pregnant. So you're suggesting that if you have a 24-day luteal phase, you might have a 2-week positive before your af. That can't happen like a luteal phase you won't get pregnant. People don't get positive evidence 2 weeks before the af. If they did rarely, it would be because they usually had a 40-day cycle but they ovulated an early madness that time. But it would still be 10 days after ovulation before a positive one. Disclaimer: I haven't checked all that, but I'm pretty sure based on things I learned when I was TTC. Four days before the AF was due to my fourth pregnancy. He was weak, but it was much darker on the day of losing the AF. All my other pregnancies waited until I arrived a week late to prevent me from disappointing. It did not prove up to 5 days after my period was due, either time, but strong positive both times. I wouldn't want the stress of the tests too soon and worry about chemical pregnancies, etc. I said you start producing hcg when you implant, which could be up to two weeks before your period. Then I said I'd take a week or build up to detectable levels. Meaning detectable when a pregnancy test detects it. You're arguing with something I didn't say... but there's no way you can implant two weeks before your period is due. No way. The implantation usually takes place approximately 6 to 12 days after ov (most likely around the 9th day). Even at the earliest end of this, with a 20-day luteal phase you cannot become pregnant. It is also not required a week for HCG to be built at detectable levels - it is detectable in sensitive tests 2-3 days after implantation. You can't get a positive two weeks before you owe it. You can't. Five days before you owe it is on the limit, and only a few women will get positive so early. Positive 9-10dpo this time Good luck xI has negative until the period of the day was due! 5 days before my period was due but what is the point when less than half survive? absolutely useless, and inventing a totally new and unnecessary source of modern trauma Greenleaf I think you misunderstood something you've read and I was worried that you might be scaring people. It is true that early pregnancy is very fragile but it is not true that if you test before your period you have a better than half chance of abortion. It is true that probably the most fertilized eggs do not make them babies, but the vast majority of them are lost before any pregnancy test in the world can tell you. The actual statistics, based on the best study on this, are that one in three embryos that implant enough to produce hcg (and were using more sensitive tests than even the best at home, so collected more than women would do for themselves) will result in an abortion, half before the pregnancy reaches six weeks. So if you test positive before your period there is on a two-in-three chance you'll have a baby. You have doubled your chance to know that you have miscarnated (working in the - possibly defective, in my experience - assumption that you wouldn't know if you miscarriage before six weeks and had not tried) but it's not as grim as you're painting it. Thank you. Ladies for all your answers. It has been very interesting xx My GP said not to wait until a week after the period because it is so much more likely to be a successful pregnancy after testing early and I went straight to GP with my first pg. I've never been able to wait that long, but I'd like to defy trying to wait until the day you must. You probably find that you have other symptoms then anyway as I always knew for periods of time was because something was different new thread on this topic ← this thread this thread the screen This is page 1 of 2 (This thread has 31 messages.) How soon did you get a positive pregnancy test? How soon did you get a positive pregnancy test? Hello, everyone. I was curious how many of you were able to get a positive pregnancy test before your lost period. If so, how many days before the day one of your period did you try? Thank you! I didn't try until 14 days. I knew I'd go crazy if I tried it before. Same here. I waited until the day I waited for my period to prove. Severly they kept the mad woman in line. 10 DPOI has a superspoon in 10 DPO that he did not trust. At 11 DPO I have a positive super dark! I have short cycles and that was only 1 day before my lost period. 10 DPOI entered the job on Monday, a co-worker said, "You have a glow..Are you waiting?" I looked at her like she was crazy. The next day I did a test. It wasn't until Friday. 7DPO with FRERSquinter at 8dpoI did not get mine until 14DPO, which was two days after my lost period. I have my 9DPO positive, 5 days before I waited for my period! I have my positive with my first baby at 3w1d, so about 6 days before the expected period. With my second baby, I was 3w4d, tested positive the day before my lost period (I still had slightly irregular postpartum periods of the first baby). Very weak positive at 9 o'clock for my last pregnancy. I don't know about this even though I have a super weak positive at 10dpo, enough to give me a hint again. The next day I had a weak, but easily visible positive in a first test of response and a posiva in a clear digital. That was about 3 days before my period was due. My tests were negative until 5 days after my period was due. It's not exactly what you wanted, but I have nothing but negative until a week after my period was due. I have my first positive at 8 days late, strange but it was a good surprise. I also tried three different brands, but all the negs at first. So if you have bad results, don't worry, just wait and try again a couple of days later :-) xFaint positive at 13 dpo. Only 8 days after ovulation (as many as 6 days before my expected period!). I didn't expect it to be positive as soon as we even stopped seeing the test after about 30 seconds because we assumed it would be negative. The first time was correct at 5 weeks, the second time was also about 4 weeks, the third time was about 3.5 weeks. Five weeks after ovulation?9DPOI continued to take them because I had a strong feeling that I was pregnant, but even the elegant "five days before" tests did not go up until the day after my period should begin. 13 DPO and I had been testing ALL DAMN DAY5 days before the period with wondfos MembersOnline
